Aging Vs Looking YoungerIt’s amazing how advertising has helped us to believe on an unconscious level that we can not only look younger, but act younger, feel younger, and in some cases maybe we can even ‘be’ younger. It’s true that you can do some amazing things to help your body and face look much younger than your actual age, but you have to remember the vital importance of dealing with age issues even if you don’t feel old enough. Health and age go hand in hand. You can’t escape it. While it is true that a younger looking, younger feeling body is healthier than an overweight body, there are some things that boil down to age. After liposuction you might not recognize your over 40 body. The best skin care products can create a youthful face. Yet your heart has still been beating for more than 40 years and you still need to make sure you get annual screenings for breast cancer. You can’t put off the important annual exams until you feel a little older. A muscle workout routine may very well keep you in better shape but today it seems that we have forgotten that we can be much older than we look. It’s perfectly acceptable if you don’t even want to act your age, but your body needs you to remember that with internal age, things start to wear down, develop illnesses, and create health problems. Science has proven quite a bit to us. It has helped us to retain beauty longer and it has helped us detect and aggressively treat the early stages of numerous diseases. With early detection the average survival rate of women between 40 and 60 has increased more than 80% with the increase in public awareness. Mammograms and other tests are now just commonplace and should be done every year. It’s awesome that you feel and look younger and you’re still cool enough that your thirty something friends tend to forget that you are in the next age bracket or so. Provided that you keep the inside as healthy as the outside, you have many more years of youthful living ahead. Science has helped us take away the sun spots and the discoloration of skin baked in the sun too long. We can even actually erase our wrinkles today. Yet with all our beauty advancements we can’t forget that we have made medical advancements as well. We all want to look young, act young, and play like we’re young. And there really isn’t anything wrong with that. However, we have to remember that we might not feel like we are our age today, but we have to be responsible for keeping up with the health demands of our time.
